Immature Stages of Otitidae

Detailed information on immature stages of Otitidae (= Ortalidae) is being acquired. However, Clausen (1940) noted that maggots were found in the egg capsules of Locusta in the insectary. A maximum of 28 maggots was found in one capsule, but they did not seem to be limited in their feeding to a single mass of eggs, but moved about in the soil in search of others.
